Do not attempt to service or repair the device yourself. Refer all servicing  
to qualified service personnel. Do not attempt to modify the device in any  
way. Doing so could invalidate your warranty.

Cleaning  
When cleaning the device, please use a soft, dry cloth. Never use  
benzene, paint-thinner, or other chemicals on the device.

Location  
Place the device in stable location, so it will not fall causing damage to  
the device or bodily harm.  
Intended use  
The product may only be used with the original parts intended for it. The  
product may only be used in closed and dry rooms. The intended use  
includes adherence to the specified installation instructions. The  
manufacturer accepts no liability for damage arising due to improper use.

4.1 SPEAKER SETUP  
Power requirements  
120VAC/60Hz -> 9VAC/1000mA power  
1. Ensure that the power switch on teh back of the subwoofer is in  
adapter  
the OFF position.  
1. Ensure that the voltage on the power adapter corresponds to the  
AC voltage of your local area.  
2. Unravel the AC line cord and insert plug into the AC outlet.  
3. Insert the other end into the power jack on the rear of the  
subwoofer.

4. Connect the RCA plugs for the left and right satellite speakers  
to the cooresponding “SPEAKER OUTPUT” jacks on the  
subwoofer.

5. Using the included cable, connect the output of the PC or other  
A/V equipment (mp3 player, boombox headphone output, etc.) to  
the AUDIO INPUT jacks on the rear of the subwoofer.

5. BASIC OPERATION  
5.1 SPEAKER OPERATION  
8. WARRANTY  
1. Switch on the power using the power switch on the back of the  
subwoofer. The POWER LED on the front of the subwoofer  
should light red.  
2. Adjust the output volume of the PC or A/V equipment to about  
3/4 volume. Then slowly increase the volume of the DMS1 usng  
the volume knob on the front of the subwoofer until the volume is  
at the desired level.  
Califone warrants this product to be free from defective material and  
workmanship for one year from the purchase date. Our “Project  
Intercept” Customer Satisfaction program will replace defective parts and  
repair malfunctioning equipment under this warranty when the defect  
occurs under normal use.  
All Damage Claims Must Be Made With the Freight Carrier  
3. Use the treble/bass controls to adjust the audio quality.  
CAUTION: Avoid excessive volume for long periods of time as this can  
result in hearing damage.  
Notify the freight carrier immediately if you observe any damage to the  
shipping carton or product. Repack the unit in the carton and await  
inspection by the carrier’s claim agent. Notify your dealer of the pending  
freight claim.  
6. TROUBLESHOOTING  
Returning Your Unit for Service or Repairs  
No sound  
Check that the power LED on the subwoofer is ON. If not,  
check the power connections and that the power switch is  
in teh ON position.  
Should your unit require service, contact our Customer Service  
Department online at califone.com/techsupport or via email  
[email protected] or by phone at 800-722-0500 / 818-407-2400  
to first obtain an RA (Return Authorization) number before returning it to  
Califone. The unit must be returned to our factory via prepaid  
transportation only after the factory issues an RA number, which must be  
clearly written on the outside of the box.  
Check that the audio cables are well connected and the  
audio output from the PC or A/V device is working.
